IE and Firefox

Something that always floors me is people who test their Web-based application in only one of IE or Firefox, or even worse only in Safari or some other little used browser. Then you view their Website in IE or Firefox and it looks like somebody thru-up on your monitor.

Understanding Patents

U.S. patent law is simply screwed. Let me tell you why. Patents were originally about sharing ideas and giving the author a bonus in royalties for having shared those ideas. Now, patents are about protecting ideas and cashing in big time when companies infringe on them. A small change to existing patent law will return the balance in the patent process. All patents should require to be available for a reasonable royalty and if you challenge a patent in court, then you are solely liable for that reasonable royalty plus a reasonable court cost. Of course, people that see the problem in the patent process have only one idealistic goal in mind and that's the end of patent protection. Start fighting for a realistic goal and maybe you'll get there. And now you have a realistic goal.
