THIS MAN IS NOT JOKE
and he is not a private individual
Wikibooks takes on textbook industry
www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=125530
in his own words:
The publishing industry is "going to have to recognize that there's a fundamental shift in the marketplace," he added. "Some of them will prosper. Some of them will figure out the new regime and find out ways to add value. Others will stick their heads in the sand and get slaughtered."
and: "The purpose is really contained in the word 'freely licensed,' which is to make available to anyone in the world, in any language, a curriculum that they can copy, redistribute and modify, for whatever purpose they may have, for free," Wales said.

J. Wales is the person who maintains WIKIPEDIA, before of that, he maintained internet domains serving blogs, and offering email list services. for a while, WIKIPEDIA was even supported by the old network (but now, they get free servers from YAHOO. Yahoo Inc. has adult verification, and does not allow kids under the age of 13 to use the services. Yahoo Inc. also cooperated with the authorities).
this man is also not funny (but he's just a private individual, using his democratic right to express opinion)
mssuxandotherstuff.blogspot.com/2007/04/some-more-anti-mi...
what J. Wales does not get is the point that "slaughtered" is political incorrect- he actually can not use it, because he is not a private individual.
OK anyone can edit it. maybe you want anyone to come into your house?
for whatever purpose. even if it is hacking, and identity theft.
and some publishers will get "slaughtered". well, whatever. Kazachstan rules apply, animal explosions happen (wikipedia is not censored).
he (J. Wales) would make a good burglar.
but we yet do not know if the slaughtering will be voluntary, or commercially (like the U.S. Army plans to perform future wars).
if they ask me, send some tanks to Florida, where Wikipedia has its headquarters, and put an end to it.
Not Afghanistan.
Not Iran.
Not North Korea.
But Wikipedia headquarters, Florida.

here you see what might have been an inspiration for the FSF and the GNU logo.
you have to use free software, at least!
consider this illustration and the LINUX camp is not too lucky off with their penguins and GNU's (they are large animals).
maybe it is just random?
or even propaganda. you know the good guy always wears horns- see traditional japanese samurai uniforms.
what i think is that something like an OS (operating system) should not deal with any animated symbolics. WINDOWS does not (4 color flag), AMIGA OS did not (coloured checkermark).
did you know, originally they wanted to name LINUX "FREAX"?
and even you have to use it- on yahoo, flickr, google etc.
at least, they are using FreeBSD.
but often they really use LAMP (LINUX APPACHAE MYSQL PHP).
all opensource even if files are missing.
personally i do not boycott it (not to use LINUX powered web communities).
however, there is an alternative!
MICROSOFT .NET ASP web technologies!
you can use only BASIC if you really wanted to.
but you need WINDOWS WEBHOSTING, not LINUX WEBHOSTING.
OK it is less attractive to hackers, because LINUX programmers sometimes work for no pay.
but it is not a long-time solution.
they are just different people i think.

here you can see it is all obviously the same content- copied off from wikipedia entry!
which already sits on top of the results.
people stop wikipedia, GNU, LINUX, J. Wales, R. Stallmann.
they are dangerous. Wikipedia is dangerous. LINUX is dangerous.
they do not want real information.
they only want one wikipedia entry, and 100s of zombie copies.
OK they already have it.
back on the AMIGA, they would not have had a long, or good living.
think all these sites are copies from one and the same wikipedia entry!
OKOK. it already sits at #1 position. why is it required to have so many copies?
this is not social, or free software. this is truth dictature, anachy, and spamming.

yes but why the futurism did not work out?
it is a question people maybe must research for themselves. difficult to say for times i have not witnessed myself.
but people should not gamble away the fortunes of society with no reason:
www.nowpublic.com/health/u-s-and-human-rights
WE ARE NOT ALL EQUAL. DOT PERIOD.
some people will just gamble away the fortunes. some others will not really use free stuff for the greater good, but just waste it (free webspace for instance).
if there is commercial pressure, they will at least try to attract customers. with all the evils it contains- including real gambling!
however, in the 1950s, people really hoped for a better world (again), for nuclear planes, space travel, and intelligent computers.
then in the 1970s the illustration style became dopey and trippy. the 1980s again contained high-tech! but then Japan's bubble imploded. 1990s with rave party to the degree of insanity, and the 2000s with free gifts on the internet for anyone!
are people really using the internet?
it is interesting to take a look at 1000s of different pages, different people.
what will be next decade?
this picture is absolutely not old-fashioned (and i do not really think retro stuff will make it, like these old design fridges from the 1950s).
and who is this person? if he is anyone.
