If only this Egret was facing the other way, it would have made a perfect picture! Canon EOS 40D, Canon 100-400 L IS lens.

One day this moth showed up at my apartment and hung out for about two days. It was 3 inches long and 6 inches wide in the wing span. It was beautiful and interesting to watch.

This shot was taken with my new underwater camera (Canon 650IS). The lens is about an inch away from this beasty... testing the macro ability of the lens. I LOVE IT! The shutter is a touch slow on the reaction time, and the contineous shooting ability is also slow, but the shots you can get are very nice. I think this is the absolute best pocket camera I've ever seen... and 12.1 mega pixels makes this little beast a clear land option as a second or third camera to tote around. Canon's MSRP is $599 for the camera, the underwater housing is another $300ish.
The kids love it too, and I'll be posting some shots they've taken with it in the near future. It's very friendly camera... but the manual focus sucks. And I really wish they would have put the zoom in and out button in the thumb area (rather than the shutter finger), but out of all my cameras, this is a solid third favorite (most favorite pocket camera & underwater camera). Shutter speed & aperture are both easy to set. The autofocus & IS parts take a little getting used to. All in all, I'd give this little camera a solid 8 on a 1 to 10 scale on land, and for kids, beginners, pocket cameras, and underwater cameras it's an easy 9+! Hope this helps... and nope, I don't work for Canon. LOL Just like quality equipment.
This shot was taken outside the Ripley's Aquarium in Gatlinburg, Tennessee
