I'm getting so many feature requests for R|mail, that I'd thought a page documenting them would be a good idea. So that users know what I'm working on and so that I can track them publicly. Here we go...

R|mail Feature Requests

I really like the Rmail service but I seem to be running into a small problem

I have added bnoopy.typepad.com to my rmail subscription list. There are occasional posts so the traffic is pretty light. Lately however I appear to be getting lot of emails. I did some investigation and found out that everytime a comment is added to the blog an email is generated. Any way I can turn this off in my rmail subscription.

Sorry, there seems to be some weird bug with typepad RDF feeds. It's like Typepad temporarily re-orders your feed, but only for a very brief period. I have not figured out what exactly is causing this bug.

I put in a fix for #2 above. The same code can later be used to pump out multiple emails per feed per subscriber per hour, so that all items are R|mailed even if more than one is published in the hour.

Hi Randy:

I noticed that the notification mail can send in UTF-8 now... therefore it's no problem to send my post in Chinese, and this makes R|Mail a wonderful notification service for Asian people now! ^_^

Great work Randy,
this is what I've been looking for, there are some other services but none of them works properly. Of course I wouldn't write here, if I hadn't some suggestions:
- send the whole entry (maybe optionally?)
- user accounts, to manage the subscriptions on your site...not so important
- HTML emails
- there is no support of special german letters yet, like äöüß...I thought you have added UTF-8?
- Maybe in the above mentioned user account: User should be able to select how often he gets mail (in hours)
- very important: if it isn't technically possible to deliver the mail directly, then plz put each rss-entry in the mail of the last hour

I work very closely with FeedBurner and we have collaborated on a few projects. I'd love to know what error you got. I'm sure it's a generic problem and unrelated to FeedBurner.

The name of the blog in the subject line of the initial confirmation request e-mail so it doesn't get automatically moved to the junk mail box or otherwise deleted as spam.
